Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in UK

Born on the townland of Kilnagun, Lurgan, Cavan to Thomas Mollay and Dympna Moynah, James emigrated to Dundee, Scotland during the Potato Famine.  He married Bridget Egan in Dundee and had eight children.  Most of his occupation was as a general labourer though he also worked on the Dundee Docks.  One record (his daughter's death) shows him as a seaman, however, and the family story is that he died in Sligo after 1868 and before 1871, but we have not found any death record.  We have not found any record of his parents' marriage either.
