James Robert Moffitt was born in Drumkeeran in 1810 to William Moffitt (of Drumkeeran) and Mary Campbell.
He married Sarah Turner in 1830 and they emmigrated to Australia in 1855 aboard the "Eliza". They had ten children.
James died in Gerringong, New South Wales in 1890.
