James Bracken was born in Roscommon, Ireland, circa 1853, to James and Ann Bracken. He is a brother to Delia Bridget Bracken (my ancestor) and Michael Bracken. I believe they were from the Carrick on Shannon area, parish Elphin. He emigrated to Bolton, Lancashire, England, before emigrating to Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. While in Bolton, he married Mary Fitzpatrick in 1874. They had two children born in Lancashire, Thomas Bracken, born in Farnworth, abt. 1875, and Anna, born 31 July 1876 in Lancashire. They emigrated to Cincinnati, arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, as a port of entry, 20 July 1882. James died 3 March 1895 in Cincinnati, Ohio; His wife, Mary, died 8 May 1901 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born around 1861.
