In 1834 James Welsh Sr. appears on the Tithe Applotment records for Minnimore (now Meenymore) with 20 Irish acres (about 33 statute acres) more than half of which was marsh/bog. By the time of Griffith's Valuation in 1857, the Walsh name is no longer recorded here.

He likely the father of John Welsh (1790-1866), George Welch (1804-1848), James Welsh (1812-1852) & Patrick Welsh (1813-1883).

On 11-Sep-1840, James Welsh aka Walshe of Meenymore, Glenboy died age 76. He was a member of Cloonclare Church of Ireland. His wife, Isabella Walshe died a week later on 20-Sep-1840.
