== Biography ==

Children William John (1856), Robert (1859), James Morrison (1860), Sarah Jane (1963), Ann/Annie (1865), Jemima (1868) and Thomas (1873).

Marriage 1853 William married Jemima Morrison on 28 March 1853 in Donaghadee, County Down.[1][2] at the time of marriage, William was a sewing agent in Castleblayney, just over the border in County Monaghan, and Jemima was living in Donaghadee. The marriage took place at the Donaghadee Church of Ireland, conducted by the Rev. L. Hill. William's witness was Bernard Morrison and Jemima's was Mary Jane Mitchell.[3]

1891 Census The 1891 census shows William (a smith) and Jemima living at 14 Great Wellington St., Govan, Kinning Park, Lanaskshire, Scotland. They are aged 62 and 60. They have four children: Sarah Jane, fruiterer (28), Annie, machinist (26), Jemima, no occupation listed) (23) and Thomas, apprentice machine man (18).[4]

1901 Census William Mark died about 1895, and in 1901 Jemima is described as living on her own means. She is now 70. Unmarried daughter Annie (36) is living at home, and is working as a dressmaker. Sarah Jane (38) has married Alexander Janson, 47, an engine fitter, and they are also living with their mother. Janson is from England. They are living at 368 Scotland St., Govan, Kinning Park, Lanarkshire (Glasgow area).[5]
