Jeremiah McCarthy married Ellen Hurley on February 2, 1817 in Inchigeelagh. Witnesses were Ty McCarthy and Jeremiah Hurley.
They had a son, Daniel, born about 1850 (which seems really late to me? That or he's one of the last kids?)
I am looking for any information on Jeremiah or Ellen. I only have their marriage record. I do not know their birth or death dates / the names of their parents / the names of their other children / whether or not they stayed in Inchigeelagh. I visited the parish about twenty years back and confirmed the marriage, but the priest could not find any birth certificates for this couple in the parish records.)
I have the following information for their son Daniel if it is helpful. He places his birth in Ireland on all of his records. He married Mary Ellen Doherty (Dougherty) -- daughter of James Doherty and Catherine "Kate" Lynch of Fall River, Massachusetts. They settled in New Bedford, MA, and had six children. Daniel died in New Bedford in 1899 at age 49.
I was unable to find records or gravesites for Jeremiah or Ellen when I traveled to Inchigeelagh. I am wondering if they moved or perhaps came to the United States. Thank you so much!
