John Devine, son of Patrick from Ireland married Maria Deady (of John), Southwark London St. Saviour's Church 1838 their eldest son born 1839. They settled with other Irish in London 1830s-1840s . 1841 census usually list their birth place 'Ireland' Many Irish are listed as born in 'Cork' or Westmeath , but I cannot trace them earlier, They had about four children in London before migrating to USA. The family is found in the US 1850 Federal Census in New York City. 'Devine' surname known to originate more northern Ireland but some Devine's in London list their origin as Cork so I am still a bit puzzled.
