He married Margaret Donovan in 1852 in Ireland (I asume in Cork but don't know for sure). Margaret Donovan was born 1821 in Cork, Ireland and died in Hamilton, Victoria, Australia on 12 November 1894.
John & Margaret had 2 children (Margaret born 1854, died in 1937 and Patrick - my great grandfather - born 16 December 1856, died 28 May, 1918). Both children were born in Australia.
