John born about 1845. Father was Jeremiah. Mother unknown. But second daughter born was named Margaret. He was a Seaman and Fisherman and farmer and a Naval Reserve Pensioner. Married Ellen McCarthy (father was Patrick McCarthy a shoemaker in Oct of 1878. They lived in Prehane (Preghane)
Died in 1916 in Kinsale Hospital. His wife Ellen stayed in Preghane until she immigrated to USA in 1920. They had 8 children. One died at 4 months of age and is buried in the cemetery across the street from Charles Fort. The other 7 children all migrated to USA.
