We don't know precisely when John emigrated to Newfoundland, however we do know he married in St. John's on 28 Nov 1822 and moved to Bell Island, a small iron ore mining island in Conception Bay, Newfoundland, Canada. A short ferry ride across The Tickle, the ferry terminal is some 17 km from the The Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 200 Military Road, St. John's, NL A1C 5M3. From this marriage, we have traced all John Fitzpatrick's descendants. He clearly states he is from Mothel Parish in County Waterford when he married Bridget Kelly. Bridget Kelly's father, Owen, was from nearby Ballybrack, and was already living on Bell Island since at least 1798.
We want to learn John's birth information - who were his parents and when he moved from Mothel Parish. Is it possible that he is from Kilbrack? We have found a John Fitzpatrick living in Kilbrack from Griffith's Evaluation, albeit 20-odd years after John married in Newfoundland.
