John Ginnane : Short Biography

John Ginnane came to New Zealand in 1877 he worked around Geraldine area in the South Island of New Zealand. Around 1882- 1883 he moved to Wellington in the North Island of New Zealand and somehow met my then Great Grandmother whom I have no information on and she had a baby girl ( my Grandmother ) named Margaret McCarthy. They never married as in 1885 in Wellington he married a Winifred Roche from County Limerick and they lived in Ekatahuna not far from Wellington. John worked for many years for the Railways and died and is buried there.
