My 3rd great-grandfather was named Thomas Hanley. I know that Thomas Hanley is a common name. "My" Thomas was born circa 1851 in Ireland. He died in1901 in Minnesota, United States of America.
Thomas married Bridget Hanley (I do not know her maiden name). Bridget was born in 1813 in County Roscommon, Ireland. She died in 1893 in Minnesota, United States of America.
Thomas and Bridget had at least two sons: John and Thomas.
John Hanley was born in 1853 in Ireland and died 11/8/1912 in Minnesota. John married Mary Ann Gavin.
Mary Ann was born in New Jersey, USA 3/25/1861 and died in Minnesota on 3/4/1910. Mary Ann's father, Thomas Gavin, was born on 2/2/1835 in County Tipperary, Ireland. Mary Ann's mother was Mary O'Malley. I have limited information about Mary. She was born in 1831, possibly in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. Both Mary O'Malley and Thomas Gavin died in Minnesota - Mary in 1887 and Thomas in 1910.
John and Mary Ann had 4 children: Bridget Victorine, William Peter, and George Cryril. George was my great-grandfather.
George was born in Minnesota on 4/23/1895 and died on 4/3/1968. George married Mary Catherine Mercier/Le Mercier. Mary Catherine was born on 11/16/1891 and died on 9/4/1975, in Minnesota (she may have been born in Minnesota, Michigan, or Canada). Mary Catherine's family emigrated to Canada from France.
George and Mary Catherine had 4 children: Mary Jane, Margaret Ann, George Cryil Jr, and Kathleen Roberta. Kathleen was my grandmother.
Kathleen was born on 6/6/1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sadly, she recently died on 6/9/2021 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
Kathleen married my grandfather Clarence Ray Olson. Clarence "Swede" was born 10/19/1921 In Minneapolis, MN, and died unexpectedly on 11/25/1980, in Robbinsdale, MN.
Kathleen and Swede had seven children: David, Daniel John, Thomas Edward (my father), Kevin Arthur, Jeanette, Louise, and Diane.
