  • John Maxwell Gordon was my great-grandfather - reportedly born in Ireland, but some US Census records say Ireland, others say Toronto CAN. Reportedly came from large family of boys. Some unspecific family references to Lislea, Portglenone in Northern Ireland. Brothers may have included Johnson, Robert, Joseph, Thomas and others. Father was Thomas Gordon and mother Ann Stewart Gordon. John Maxwell Gordon confirmed as dying in 1933 in Mount Vernon NY and married Bridget Doherty Gordon (confirmed as born 9/4/1864 in Ballyengland/Askeaton, County Limerick in Ireland, and also died in Mount Vernon NY USA
