John Murphy m Ellen Higgins on 30 Nov 1837 diocese of Cloyne parish Ballymacoda and Ladysbridge  They had three sons that I know of, Patrick 1839, Richard 1841 and John 1844.  All died in the cholera epidemic except Patrick and Richard  both young boys were placed in a British orphanage (I have no information other than family history) Patrick immigrated to America before 1870 and settled in Lafayette IND, he married and had no children  He made his wealth in San Francisco CA, in the earthquake of 1906 a brick chimney fell on his back leaving him crippled  Richard m Johanna Spilane 1843, Midleton Co Cork on 11 June 1865 St Coleman Cloyne parish Cloyne diocese. They had two children John and Ellen both baptized at St Coleman before they also immigrated to America in 1870. They first settled in Indiana when their son John died of fever. Soon after they moved to Sharpsburg Allegheny Co PA, where they had many more children and suffered more loss. Their descendants have grown huge in numbers. We have no knowledge of blood family in Ireland Murphy or Spilane.
