John Quin was from Armagh.

The name of his spouse is unknown. His son was Robert and daughter was Catherine. These three immigrated to Canada.

Catherine didn't marry.

Both men were veterinary surgeons with the Royal Horse Artillery. John fought with Wellington at Waterloo 8th of June 1815, according to his gravestone.  

Two of Roberts sons became veterinary surgeons as well. One in Snelgrove Ontario Canada and one in the USA.

Place of Death Snelgrove, Ontario, Canada. Buried at Brampton Cemetery with his daughter, son and grandchildren. There is a large monument with his and their names.

  • John was born in 1778 and his son Robert in 1815. His daughter Catherine was born in 1822.

  • As a great-great-great granddaughter of his, the above is all that I know, sadly. It's written out on the flat gravestone that I've posted a photo of. I'm not even certain that it was Armagh that he came from. That was written in a short book that mentioned his son and grandson in relation to their Orange Lodge memberships in Ontario. I know that he spelt his surname with a singular "n".
