  • I also have Reidy in my tree and there were relatives in Chicago area-this is from the Kenny tree who have relatives who emigrated to Chicago.

  • The son of the John Reidy I posted, also named John Riedy came to Wisconsin from County Clare in 1858, settling near previously emigrated family around Casco, Wisconsin. His wife, Bridget Kelliher, was born in County Kerry, Ireland, and came to the US with her parents when she was four. The Kellihers lived in or around Boston before moving to Wisconsin around 1855, where they bought land south of Casco. The John Reidy I posted, his wife Honora, and the youngest 2 or 3 children were the last to arrive in Wisconsin.

    We believe the spelling Reidy became Riedy once settled in Wisconsin. All members of the family moved to the Casco and Kewanee areas of Wisconsin. Some eventually moved to Michigan. Later generations did live in the Chicago area. 

    I don't know anything about GEDMatch DNA, but I do have DNA results on Ancestry.com.

  • My great,great grandmother was Margaret Riedy.She married Michael DohertyDougherty.I have no other information on her.My great grandmother was born in 1866 so I figure she was born around 1846.
