My husband’s great grandmother was Julia Ryan, born 1862, from this same Parish. We just found documentation that her parents were William Ryan and Mary Hays. Julia married Jeremiah Doherty. We have baptism records for their children and several Ryan’s were sponsors including a Bridget Ryan, Morgan Ryan, Alicia Ryan, Jeremiah Ryan, Ellen Ryan, Edmund Ryan and Margaret Ryan. In 1908 Julia and Jeremiah came to Brooklyn, NY with children Maryanne, Kate and William. Sadly we have no photo of Julia. Is our Julia any connection to your ancestor? Nancymiles@gmail.com

Mother was Mary Cormack, father James Ryan. Left with parents, brother Thomas, sisters Mary and Bridget for Liverpool, settling in Trimdon Colliery in Durham. John eventually left for the US before 1875, ending up in Ohio.
