My great grandfather Patrick Edward Shanahan was born in Lisnamuck and immigrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1880. He operated Shanahan's Saloon at 49th and Halsted most of his life. Patrick married Ellen Fitzgerald, from Chicago, on August 7, 1885 and raised 7 chidren in Chicago: Nellie, Nora (Cecillia), John F, Franklin, Patrick Joseph, Margaret Josephine, and Edward Thomas.
