John Sharkey : Short Biography

I am trying to research my family. John was born in ireland, Dunroe, Co, Meath, Ireland (possibly) 1855, mother Rose and father Thomas (thomas was found on the marriage licence of my great grandparents, and rose from the 1891 census, wigan lancashire)

John worked as a brick layers labourer and lived 235 whelley wigan at the time he married.. He married Ann Lynch on 17th November 1892 in england wigan. She was born about 1860 in Ireland. She had a child out of wed lock, called William lynch born 1888. She was living at 4 glassbrooks yard Wigan, working a cotton cleaner.

Another branch of the sharkey family lived in wigan close by ; brother to john, Thomas sharkey married bridget duffy, in ireland. they had numerous children, amoung them daughter called mary ellen mcmackon (nee sharkey).

By 1911 (my great grandmother's sisters Kate and Mary Ellen with their aunt Bridget Shrkey (nee Duffy, Thomas' wife) And Rose Sharkey with Mary Mcmackon (Roses' Cosuin) (Bridget's daughter) 19 Clayton Street after Ann Sharkey (Lynch, Rose mother) death in 1906. 

There is some talk that after the death of Ann Sharkey in 1906, the family went back to ireland and at some point there after came to settle in Carrickmacross, but im not sure if thats decades later.

I have no idea how to get any further back in the family history
