Joannis T. "John" Magner (or Mangner as it was spelled after arrival in America) is my 4th great-grandfather. He was born in County Waterford in 1794 though I have been unable to find definitive records of his baptism. He married Eleonor "Ellen" Power on May 7, 1820 in Rossmore, County Waterford. After raising a family in Ireland they followed several of their children to America in 1866 and by 1875 were established in Houston County, Minnesota. He died on November 2, 1879 per his gravestone, an imposing slab in Jefferson Township, Houston County, Minnesota in an abandoned Catholic cemetery.
I know a great deal about the family after their arrival in America but very little about the family before emigration, including the identity of John's father and any siblilngs.
