  • There may be but she would be a cousin. Unfortunately thr Warrens are one of my brick walls. John's father Timothy was murdered in 1859. The murder story says Tim had a brother Jeremiah. Thats's the first I heard of Jeremiah. They had a sister Ellen who married John Hussey. I can't find birth or death certs for Tim, Jeremiah, or Ellen. No obits. Nothing to give me more info. So I don't know! I wish I did. Even going through NLI.ie parish records for Currans/Killeentierna they aren't there and the records go back to 1800. I know Molahiffe is not far. I'd be happy to find any more info. Did you ever hear about the murder story? You can look it up. "Brutal Affray Near Castleisland." I'll look into your Margaret and see if I can find any connection.

  • Hi Cait,

I feel your pain at the brick wall, I've been stuck at one for years. I think you are probably right and if anything the connection is a cousin. Peter Glover is my GG Uncle and he married Margaret Warren in Currans in 1867. I'd attach a copy of their marriage cert but I can't seem to attach here. The records are so scant for Killeentierna, I managed to get everything I could from them but so many gaps in my research. As I said Peter, Margaret and family went to Canada, I'll have  a look and see if there is any mention of a cousin of Margaret's. Have you researched the O'Keeffe, Coshe Mange collection, you might find something there. I never heard of the murder, I'm intrigued.

I've pasted the details from Margaret's family grave below, just in case any names ring a bell. In the meantime, I'm off to read a murder story.

    All the best

  • Hi Jan, I will look at the O'Keefe collection. I haven't before. I do remember seeing a Glover marriage in my own research at irishgenealogy.ie. Maybe we can help each other with our brick walls. There is also an account of the trial which is fascinating but doesn't give much more info. It mentions 2 younger boys who were witnesses but researching their names led nowhere. I'll let you know if I find anything else.
