Here is what I do know for a fact. Joseph Henderson was born in Armagh County, Ireland on the Ulster Plantation on June 12, 1804. I was able to back date his birth from his death record in Michigan and my own Y-DNA also places him in the Ulster Plantation.

He left Ireland in 1820 at age 16 for Canada. He arrived in Canada safe and sound and lived there for several years before meeting and getting married to Sarah O'Connor and the birth of their first daughter Catherine Henderson in 1833 also in Canada. Exactly where in Canada is still a mystery to me. All I can be certain of is that Joseph was more than likely Presbyterian. These are my great great grandparents on my father's side of the family.

This couple left Canada for St Lawerence County, New York State, United States of America shortly after the birth of their daughter and proceeded to have 8 more children there before relocating to Newago County, Michigan, United State of America where the settled down to raise their family there.

His wife Sarah passed away first on September 21, 1876 and he passed away on December 16, 1895 both are buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fremont, Newaygo County, Michigan, United States of America along with several of their children and even a few grandchildren.
