Julia Fry was the daughter of Henry Fry Esq, Fairy-Hill, Boyle (1790-1874) and Abigail Knott (1810-1855). She married her (Catholic) music teacher, Edward McDonagh,in Longford, Co Longford. and was disowned. Witnesses were Anne Swift Dimond and Robert butler. She lived in Dacklin, Killummod, Co Roscommon, and Beech Abbey, Kilconoran. According to family history, she was an excellent singer and equestrian. She had 6 children, Mathilda, Henry, Elizabeth, Patrick, Abigail and Kathleen.
