Julia Cecelia McQuale was born sometime around 1828 in County Meath. She married James Hickey sometime around 1847 and the couple welcomed their first child, Patrick Edward Hickey, sometime around 1848. The first available record for the couple is the baptism for their oldest daughter, Mary Hickey, on February 8, 1850 at Rathkenny Parish in County Meath. The family immigrated to Pottsville, Schuylkill, Pennsylvania sometime between 1850 and 1855. Their daughter (and my ancestor), Julia Cecelia Hickey, was born on September 15, 1856 in Pottsville. The family relocated to Philadelphia sometime around 1857 and a son, Edward Hickey, was born in Philadelphia on March 27, 1858. Sadly, little Edward passed away on January 11, 1860 in Philadelphia. Julia Cecelia McQuale Hickey died on August 28, 1895 in Philadelphia and was buried at New Cathedral Cemetery alongside her late husband and children. She was survived by her two daughters, Mary Hickey Hutchinson and Julia Hickey Martin.
