Migrated to/Born in Australia

Julia Salmon was born in Killaloe County Clare Ireland c1817. Her parents were Patrick and Anne nee Hewitt. Her father was a farmer. Julia arrived in Sydney on 30 August 1841, as a NSW. Government assisted bounty immigrant, on the Adam Lodge. Immigration records disclose that she was a farm servant and under the protection of William Crotty and his wife. There is some information which suggests that Julia had a brother Patrick and two sisters Bridget and Anne. It seems that her brother Patrick went to the USA.  In 1842 she married the convict John Champley (see The Campbelltown Convicts).
