Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in Australia
Although born in Dublin, Margaret was the daughter of James Coloe of Drumraney. He was fighting in the Napoleonic wars from 1808 to 1836, and Margaret was born in the Dublin Army Barracks. I can find no record of her mother. She departed Ireland on the ship Red Rover in 1832, a shipload of orphan girls who migrated to Australia "of their own free will". Although nor technically an orphan, her father was away fighting with the Royal Irish Regiment. I think she would probably have spent some time in Drumraney.
