Margaret Crosson (1862-1890) married to Philip Ward (?1860) Cootehill, County Cavan.

Would love to find out more info on either side of family. Here's what I have found; They had a daughter Mary Ann (born 1889 and immigrated to the US alone in her teens). Margaret had 2 sisters (Bridget and Ellen) Ellen married Peter Dermott.

Will be visiting the area shortly and would love to know if any distant relatives are still in the area.

Thank you

  • I hope you have success. I'm interested in learning more about Mary Crosson of Drumgoon, my 2xgreat grandmother.

Parish records show births of Catherine, Luke, Patrick, Anne, and James to Owen O'Brien and Mary Crosson of Drumgoon.

Griffith Valuation 1856 shows Mary Crawson sharing a property of William Ruxton at Drumaveil S with Francis Dempsey and John McCann jun.

Mary's daughter Anne migrated to Scotland. Anne  married  James Hand in Drumgoon.  Anne died not long after giving birth to John Hand in Scotland in 1995. Little John was taken to Cavan to be cared for by James Hand's sister Elizabeth Kindelan in Larawean, but sadly died in August 1996.

Have you considered a dna test?

    Peter
