This is a cropped photo (possibly a wedding photo) of my great grandparents Margaret Byrne standing beside her husband James Byrne from Kilkenny (ca. 1870s). She is standing with her hand on his shoulder.
Margaret was the daughter of Nellie Morrissey and Paddy Walsh. The Byrne homestead was in Kilmogen.
Their son, Martin Joseph Byrne married Bridget "Bridie" Irene Moore (my grandparents).
In 1912 my grandparents emigrated to the United States documented by records from Ellis Island. They settled in Seattle, Washington.
Their third child, Martin Joseph Byrne is my father. After the birth of my father in 1919, my grandparents divorced and my grandfather moved to New York City with their oldest son James "Jim". Sadly, I never met my grandfather.
