Maria Hewitt was my 3rd great grandmother. Nothing is known of her early life. The diocese of Armagh listed her year of marriage to William Courtney (c.1797-1870 in 1842. She was 16 at the time according to her age at death. William and Maria had maybe 4 sons and 5 daughters. The only child whose baptism has been found was the last one. William is listed on the Griffiths's Valuation as having a house in the townland of Bottle Hill in about 1865 - he rented it from George Hewitt, maybe a relation of Maria (one of the elder sons was named George). Maria died at Bottle Hill twenty years after her husband.
