Martin Burns was born in Bray in 1821, according to Canadian and American documents. He married Ann McGrath in Dublin (Kingstown specifically) in 1850. Their first daughter Anna Maria was born in Dublin in 1853. Her sister and my third great-grandmother was later born in 1862. They had several brothers such as Andrew (1860) and Michael (1862) as well. By the 1870's they resided in Queen Ward, Saint John, New Brunswick. I estimate that the living descendants of Martin today must number in the near hundreds. He was a laborer his whole life, and it is believed that he passed away either in New Brunswick or in Maine, USA where his daughter Rosanna later died.
