Mary Anne Rabbit : Short Biography

Mary Anne Rabbit was born and baptised 8th July 1855 in the Tuam Work House. Her parents were Peter Rabbit, a coachman according to her marriage certificate, and Bridget Acton.

I have not found a marriage for Peter and Bridget.

The first child that I have located for Peter and Bridget Rabbit  (Catholic Parish Registers at the NLI site) was born in the Archdioceses of Tuam in March of 1848. Due to a blot on the page (Microfilmm04222/01 Page 26) I am not able to decern the gender or name of the child. 

The second child known to me (Microfilm 04222/01 Page 37) is a daughter Bridgit Rabbit baptised 16th May 1849

The third child (Microfilm 04222/01 Page 61) was a daughter Catherine Rabbit baptised in February 1852

Mary Anne Rabbit was the only other child that I have located for this couple, she was my great grandmother. Mary Anne Rabbit married  Charles William Winkless, an Englishman, 10th March 1886 in Tibooburra, NSW, Australia.. She died 25th August 1929, Adelaide, South australia. (Births, Deaths and Marriages New South Wales, and S.A.  Australia)..

Fanny Elizabeth Winkless (my grandmother) 4th November 1886 Tibooburra, NSW, Australia (birth certificate BDM Registry NSW, Australlia) 

Norman Patrick Winkless 20th March 1896 Tibooburra, NSW, Australia. Died 27th January 1907 (Birth, Death and Marriage Registry NSW, Australia).

Bertie John Winkless 7th February 1899 Tibooburra, NSW Died 21st March 1899 (Births, Deaths and Marriages NSW, Australia).
