Mary GRIFFIN was born in 1855 in Galway, possibly the daughter of Margaret and Thomas.
She immigrated to Australia before the 23 De9cember 1879 when she then married James COLLINS on 23 December 1879 in Dalby, Queensland. Their Marriage certificate has Mary detailed as Spinster, 23yrs, born Galway, Ireland, a domestic Servant by occupation and the daughter of Thomas Griffin (labourer) & Margaret ? Illegible looks like 'Elyrn'
She was possibly a passenger on the 'Highflyer' who's passenger list shows a Mary GRIFFIN, single, 22yrs. Arriving in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia on the 2 Dec 1878.
They had eight children in 13 years. She died on 28 June 1943 in Burren Junction, New South Wales, at the age of 87, and was buried there.
