Mary Hayes arrived in Emerald Hill (South Melbourne), Victoria, Australia at an unknown date before April 1874 when she gave birth to a daughter. The father of her child was William Beattie, a shoemaker, b. County Mayo ca. 1819. Mary may have had 2 prior children by William Beattie but none of the births were registered in Victoria. Mary had as many as 5 further children by William Beattie and another child by John Thomas Perry, b. 23 Dec 1849, Haggerston, London, England. Only 3 children reached adulthood. As far as is known, Mary never married William Beattie but she did, eventually, marry John Perry. Mary died at South Melbourne on 19 FEB 1917 and was buried in Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery; COB-CEB-0209. [See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hayes-20119]
