Mary Murphy is my Great Great Grandmother. Born in Tuam Co Galway in 1824.
Her parents are Edward Murphy and Bridget Ryan (born 1797)
She immigrated to Sydney Australia in 1840 aboard the Ship " QUEEN VICTORIA" aged 16 years and was listed as Housekeeper.
I am not sure if she traveled alone or with her mother or other siblings!
A distant relative in Victoria Austrtalia has her Mother listed dying in 1878 in Melbourne but i can not find any information on this. He also lists that she had seven siblings being:
Bridget,Margreat,Patrick,Thomas,Sarah about 1835, Catherine 1836 to 14.01.1912 Maldron, Victoria. Australia and Honorah Tuam 1837 to 1887 Melb ourne West, Victoria.Australia
I presume Mary first went to Hyde Park Barrocks in Sydney and may have then ended up in Parramatta. Sydney.
My Great Great Grandfather is John (Blackjack) Fitz-Gerald, born Rostellan, Co Cork. Ireland in 1816.
He immergrated to Sydney with his first wife Mary Doyle in 1838 from Queenstown, Cork.
John and Mary had a child named Ellen Fitzgerald, unfortunately Mary Doyle passed away around 1840 and is buried in Prospect, Sydney.
John then remarried Mary Murphy in 1842 in St Patricks in Parramatta and they stayed at Johns place of work being "BUNGEREE" a horse breeding stud near Blacktown in Sydney.
a few of there children were born around Parramatta then they headed off to Orange central NSW where a few more children were born.
My great Granddad in Edward John Fitz-Gerald born 1851 and died in Dubbo 29.11.1897
My GG granddad died in Mullion Creek, Orange.NSW 04.08.1899 and Mary Murphy died in Mullion Creek 17.03.1905 and they are both buried in the Old RC Cemetery in Orange NSW Australia
