Michael Maroney was baptized on 15 Nov 1830 at St John's Parish. His parents were shown as Michael Maroney and Catherine Lynch. Michael immigrated to To America in 1848, possibly on the ship Barque Junior. He entered the US in New Orleans, where he married Cecelia Clark, and their son James was born there in 1862. He moved first to Urbana, Champagne, Illinois by 1880, and by 1888 he was a resident of Chicago. He is shown as plasterer in both the 1860 and 1870 census records. By 1880 he was running a boarding house.and was a laborer on his death certificate. He had 3 sons, James T, Thomas Michael and Henry D. His parent apparently immigrated to America at some unknown date, as his mother was shown living with him after the death of her husband.
