Michael Maroney is shown as baptized in November of 1830 at St John's in Limerick City.  He married Cecelia Clark about 1860 and had 3 sons.  Cecelia was baptized on 16 Jan 1836 in St Peter's in Athlone, Westmeath (if I have the right one).  Their first son, James T,  was born 6 Jun 1862 in New Orleans.  The other two sons were born in Chicago, Thomas Michael 7/24/1864 and Henry D, August 1867.

Michael died prior to 1885, as Cecelia was shown in the 1885 City Directory as a widow.

Michael's parents were Michael and Catherine (Lynch) Maroney.  This is shown in the St John's baptism records of Michael.  Catherine (Lynch) Maroney is shown in the records of St John's as marrying a Thomas Maroney on 31 Oct 1830.  This record raises many questions: Who is Thomas Maroney?  Was Michaels father's name actually Thomas Michael or was it an error.  The marriage is only 15 days before the son was baptised.  Did they have to get married so that Michael would not be recorded as a bastard?  The Church Marriage Record was incojmplete, with no parents for either Michael of Catherine shown.
