JOHN KEANE Ballymalone 25th Jan. 1943 | His wife NORA | Died 23rd Jan. 1942 | MARY O'BRIEN | Died 22nd May 1976. Her husband MICHAEL | Died 31st Dec 1979 | DENIS O'Brien |Died 15th August 1996 | Michael O'Brien and his wife Mary (nee Keane) lived in Ballymalone with their seven children. Denis was the only child to stay on the farm until he died in 1996. All are buried in St. Cronan's. Mary inherited the farm from her father, John, who inherited from his father, Patrick. Of course in those days, the land went to her husband. Their other children: Maudie, Nonnie, Nancy, and Peggie, emmegrated to NY in the late 1950's- mid 60's. Sean married and lived in Co. Cork. Bridget married and emigrated to England in the 60's. Mary Keane's father, John, remarried after the death of his first wife and Mary's mother, Mary Cosgrave. All I know of his second wife is her first name, Nora. I am the daughter of Peggie, who was the youngest child. She passed away in 2016. Three of her sisters are still living (Maudie/Mary, Nonnie (Noreen), and Nancy (Anne). I'm hoping to get any information that is possible about this family. I would really dislike their stories to fade away. Thank you!
