My stumbling block is my husband Peter’s g.g.grandparents “ Michael Roach and Jane Malone”
Two of their daughters, Roseanne born 1853 and Jane born 1842, Roach migrated to Australia and both are Peter’s gg grandmothers because Rosanne’s son Arthur Sullivan and Jane’s daughter Mary Cocciardi married. That is 1st cousins married.
But the stumbling block is Roseanne and Jane parents. Where did they come from, we presumed Athlone because we have seen Rosanne’s christening details in St. Peters Catholic Church in Athlone. (Record attached). But did not find christening details for jane.
Unfortunately, we have had no luck with the girl’s parents – Michael Roach and Jane (Joanne) Malone.
A Michael Roach was in the Army and perhaps he was stationed at the barracks in Athlone. I have found and attached a possible British Army service Record Transcription for a Michael Roach and hope it is a clue.
Any help no mater how small would be gratefully appreciated.
