Michael Tangney (my Great-Grandfather) was a farmer. He married Margaret Talbot (born 02/10/1861) who was also from Kerry (her parents were James Talbot & Elizabeth Breen). Michael and Margaret gave birth to my grandfather John Tangney on 08/03/1898 in Ballinorig, Tralee. John married Kathleen O'Callaghan (also from Tralee) in St John's Church, Tralee on 11/09/1921. Michael passed away sometime after John & Kathleen Married I am not sure if it was before or after John & Kathleen migrated to Victoria Australia in 1927. Some relatives have placed his death as being around June 1944. My grandfather John was a captain in the IRA and hid members in the house, it is believed that Michael also was involved in the IRA, however it is not known if he is the same Michael Tangney mentioned in some war records.
