Pat Barrett of Ballinvilla (1839-1891) the eldest surviving son of Matthew & Susie Barrett, emigrated to America with his father and siblings in June 1864, following their
eviction. The ships manifest states he was a labourer, age 28 (suggesting he was born circa 1835).
He married Mary Theresa Healy and lived in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, where he worked as a miner. They had 7 children. The family moved to Brooklyn NY in about 1890 where Patrick
passed away in 1891. This family were all interred in the Holy Cross Cemetery Brooklyn.
