  • If you did not know, Patrick also had a sister Mary. As far as I can see by the record, Mary was born in November of 1814 and Baptised in January of 1815. Sponsors were Daniel Feen & Ellen Bea.

  • There seems to be an overlap on the Page.  I believe Mary was baptised on the same day as Catherine Hease. November 26, 1814.  Do you live in the area of West Cork?

  • I live in Skibbereen, twelve miles from Rosscarbery and am the volunteer advisor for the general area for IrelandXO with particular reference to Abbeystrowry Parish. If I can be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact me also on my personal email address of frankfahy@eircom.net    It may be of interest to you to know that there was a Dillon family in Skibbereen in the early 1900s and the area where they lived and had a grocery/public house is still known by older residents as Dillon's Corner. They are burried in Abbeystrewry graveyard in Skibbereen.

  • Hi Frank,

I did not know about the Skibbereen Dillons!  I was at the Heritage Centre last May (2017) and had a one hour meeting with Margaret Murphy.  We zeroed in on the Rosscarbery Dillons and the Heas, Hease and Hayes folks of The Glandore, Leap and Rosscarbery area.  Ihave several DNA matches in that area.  Mostly Heas, Hease or Hayes.  A few years ago I found a DNA match in Skibbereen but it has vaished.  I believe the name was Glanton.  It was a Y-DNA match  I have my kits on gedmatch.  A269754, T320633 on Genesis beta KY6658848RU1166838
