Patrick Gleason was born in County Clare in 1822. In 1847 he immigrated to the United States, arriving in New York City. He spent a few years in New York City, then moved to Rensselear, New York, where he met & married Mary Smith of County Meath. She had immigrated to the U.S. in 1844. They moved several times and finally settled in Lincoln, Logan Co., Illinois. He farmed in that location and lived until 1903. His wife Mary died in 1915. Both are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln, Logan Illinois.
