His baptism record from the Parish of Dromtarriffe states that his residence was Clounbanin, Cork. It is believed that he had 2 siblings who remained in Ireland - Johanna born around 1835 and Denis 1841-1930. He married Johanna Lalor/Lawlor/Lawler in Marylebone, England in 1863. Johanna was born around 1842 in Ballyduff, County Kerry. They migrated to Queensland, Australia in 1865. They had 10 children - 2 born in England and 8 in Australia. Their son John born in 1872 was my grandfather. After Johanna's death in 1877, Patrick married Irish widow Margaret Malone in Warwick, QLD. They had 2 sons together. Patrick died in Brisbane, Queensland in 1914.
Surname spelling became confused in various Australian records, with Kiley and Kieley taking over from Kiely.
