Farmer at family home in Gubbs, Cloone and later in north Co Kildare (post 1959). Played on parish football team in Cloone and was known as 'Red Pat'. Met and married Margaret Teresa Ellis of Newtown Forbes, Co Longford, in June 1952. His father was Hugh Heeran (1871 -1951) and mother was Katie Gilleece (1877 - 1951). His Grandfather was also Patrick, born circa 1841 and died 1901.
