Patrick McAniney b Boyle Roscommon 1 Mar 1818 died about 1843 New South Wales, death records not found.  Father Patrick McAniney mother Honora.

Married in Boyle before 1841 

to Catherine Connolly baptised as a Catholic 19 Oct 1823 (FHL 989743) Boyle Roscommon 1879. Her parents were James Connolly and Catherine nee Chambers.

They departed Plymouth 4th Sep 1841 aboard the Lady Clarke arrived into Sydney NSW 26 Dec 1841 as assisted migrants. He could read and write but she could not. Their occupations were farm servant and servant.  Bounty for him 19/- and her 10/3

 Records show name as McEninny but her Australian marriage shows McAniney

They were helped by Caroline Chisholm.

They had a son Patrick McAniney born 10 April 1843 later known as Patrick John Smith as he became part of the family of Joseph Smith when he married Catherine.  Patrick’s baptismal entry shows his name as McAninery.

She married Joseph Smith a former convict in Albury New South Wales in 1844.  Their children were Joseph, Thomas, William, Matilda, Agnes Mary, Louisa Mary and Edward.

Catherine died on 15th Aug 1878 Columbo Plains Station, Urana, Wagga Wagga District, New South Wales.  She had been in the colony about 30 years and had 5 sons and 3 girls an additional 2 sons had already died.  She was buried in the Urana Cemetery with her 2nd husband
