Patrick McGovern 1878 : Short Biography

I am related to Patrick's wife Jane's Gray family, who were also  from Cavan, though I have had trouble finding out exactly which part of the county . Jane's parents were Charles Gray born between 1842 and 1844 in Cavan and I am descended from his sister Anne, who was born in Torryburn, Fifeshire, in Scotland after the family had moved there. Jane's mother was Mary Lamb b Ireland abt 1847 ( I am not sure where but I believe her father was from Meath and her mother from Cavan).

Charles and Anne's parents Thomas Gray and Ann Clark married in Kilmainham, Cavan in 1841 according to their son William's bith certificate, but I believe that Thomas and Ann may have been servants so their families did not necessarilly come from that part of Cavan. 

I have no additional info about Patrick McGovern other than that he had another sister who married a Wallace but I have plenty of info on his children and on the Grays if you need that. You can mail me at plunkettbernadette@gmail.com

Oops, I do have one pice of additional info on Patrick McGovern. According to one tree his birth was the one below, so 1877 rather than 1878. However, I cannot find that birth in the Civil Registers for Enniskillen.

I am not sure if you know but the family was still in Scotland in 1911. They appear in the census there shortly before emigration to the US on the ship Columbia. It is the emigration record which gives the info on his other sister's married name
