This entry is for my grandfather, Patrick Murray - a very elusive Grandfather, is Patrick.
The DOB I've entered is an estimate only, as I haven't been able to trace his Birth record, or his death record for that matter. I do have his army records, but there are a couple of anomalies I've found with them, which are a bit puzzling.
I know he (and his parents) were brush makers in Dublin in the early part of the 20th century. And I know that he and my Grandmother (Fanny / Frances) had 12+ children, most of whom survived (at least two passed away as children). So there are a multitude of relatives 'out there' who might also be on a quest to trace the same family history.
I also know that my mother and her two youngest siblings (Maureen Jane Murray; Norah Patricia Murray and Joseph (?) Murray were placed in an orphanage when they were small children, BUT my Grandmother and many of her adult'ish children (including those three youngest) moved to the UK in the 1930's. But what became of Patrick is a real mystery.
I have never met my Grandparents, and my Mother passed away a long time ago, so I have a rather large gap in my family history which I would love to fill in.
