PATRICK TRACEY (1836_1902) was born to PATRICK TRASSY and MARY PHELAN of Mullinahone, Tipperary and he moved to Kilkenny to marry CATHERINE CARROLL (1839-1902) who was born to John Carroll and Bridget St. John of Kilkenny.
They lived in Windgap mainly in Cotterstown, but also at Garryricken and Coolaghmore.
Thomas and Kate had 7 children.
Thomas was a Was an agricultural labourer, possibly employed by the Marquess of Ormondy who had a residence in Garryricken too.
In the 1901 census the whole family (9 adults) were named as living in a tiny cottage with two windows.
In 1901 Parrick was very badly beaten by his son and died months later in a coma. Ive no idea if the two are related or not.
Within two weeks of Patrick's death his wife, Catherine and son John, died of Typhoid.
Very hard times.
