Mill Street in Clonakilty is now known as Ashe Street.
This is my great grandfather. Born 30th September 1815, Clonakilty, Cork. Died 28th December 1892, Portsea Island, Hampshire, England.
He was married to Catherine Driscoll, born 18th March 1813, Clonakilty, Cork. Died 6th January 1890, Lambeth, London, England. They married 18th June 1835, Clonakilty, Cork.
They had three children: Catherine born April 1836 Mill Street, Clolnakilty, Cork. Daniel, born 6th May, 1839 Clonakilty, Cork and Mary Ann born 23rd November 1843 Lambeth, London.
In 1896 Daniel was a Catholic Priest ordained in UK, He died shortly after arriving in New York. News of his death appears in the New York Times. His sister Catherine, already living there, arranged the service and burial in Calvary Cemetary New York.
