Peter was pensioned from 31st Foot Dragons (foot soldier). Their sons, John B 1847 in Longford and their son James, B 1849 in Longford.
Peter joined the 8th Fencibles under Col Haultain. They arrived in NZ September 1849 aboard Oriental Queen.
